I was feeling bad today so I wanted to review a washing machine I felt really good about. The Whirlpool GHW9400PL Washer is one of those washing machines.
Positives
One of the things I personally look for in everything I buy is efficiency. I bought my car because it was designed for good gas mileage, I rented my apartment because it was closer to work, and I buy low watt lights because they save energy. That’s why I like the GHW9400PL Washer so much, it’s highly efficient. This washer is designed with Whirlpools trademarked 6th Sense technology which means this washing machine can detect the size of the load and fill with water accordingly, saving water. Time efficient, it can wash a whopping 16 pairs of jeans at a time.
The GHW9400PL Washing Machine features an HE detergent compatible design. HE or High Efficiency detergents reduce stress on clothes during the wash cycle which means your clothes will stay stronger and brighter longer.
This machine is also very quiet. I’ve have not yet heard or read a single complaint about a Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine being too loud or shaky during the washing process. If you’re bothered by loud noises or simply prefer a quieter home this is the washing machine for you.
Negatives
There are only two negatives for this washing machine, price and the HE detergent design. At $1399 this washing machine is slightly more than what I would be willing to pay for this unit. However, some good bargaining with salesmen could easily bring it down to the $1299 - $1350 range. Second, the HE detergent design means you have to use special detergent or risk damaging the washer or your clothes. This could get ugly, particularly if you have less technically savvy members in your household.
