Reader E-mailbag: Whirlpool Duet Washer / Dryer Review

I got a lot of reader response from the Whirlpool Duet Washer review over the last couple of weeks. But I got one complaint from Cheryl of North Carolina, she wrote:

“Dear Appliance Sensei,

I liked your reviews; they were very helpful and informative. After browsing many sites and doing serious research I finally decided I wanted to buy a Whirlpool Duet Washer, but I don’t want to buy it without a dryer to go with it. I looked for information on them, but I couldn’t find any helpful reviews. Worse yet, the Whirlpool Duet Washer is available as a set with an electric or gas powered dryer, could you please help me decide if Duet Washer / Dryer Combo is a good choice?

Thanks for the feedback. To answer your question, sure! I would love to do a review of the Whirpool Duet Dryer. I understand not wanting to bring home a washer without knowing a little about the dryer that goes with it.

I’ll have answer your question over two posts, first a review of the advantages and disadvantages of electric dryers vs. gas dryers, second, a dual review / comparison of both Whirlpool Duet Dryer types.
